Community activism

We live in a time of increased political polarisation and division. For several years now as an elected councillor on Beverley Town Council I have championed moderate common sense and the best interests of the people of Beverley. I have played a part in many successful projects and initiatives during my time as a councillor.

The best interests of the people of Beverley and the East Riding

I have lived in Beverley for almost twenty five years. Over that time the town has got bigger and bigger as people move in to enjoy life in our community with its pleasant town centre and surrounding countryside. East Riding is also a popular place. We need to make sure that leisure, transport and health care facilities keep up with the growth of population in the region and that a close watch is kept to avoid over-development.

A thriving economic and cultural life

As a local resident I participate in the economic and cultural life of the town. I have volunteered at countless local cultural events for well over a decade.

Common sense, moderation, fairness, tolerance, responsibility

At the heart of my politics is my belief in the long held British values of fairness, tolerance and responsibility toward those in my community.

We are lucky to have a beautiful environment in East Yorkshire

Protect our precious environment

Our environment in the East Riding of Yorkshire is very beautiful and must be protected. Development should be restricted to the many available brown field sites and kept away from the best natural habitats. On the coast we see creeping development against the wishes of local citizens. We must prevent this. The water companies must be forced to concentrate less on paying out high dividends and salaries and more on giving us clean and affordable water, without polluted rivers and beaches.
