The free wi-fi in Beverley town centre does not work reliably
Published:
On a Sunday at midday I tried the free wi-fi in Beverley town centre and found it not working. I was disappointed but not surprised.
On a Sunday lunch time I decided to try the free wi-fi in Beverley while eating at Carluccios, the popular Italian restaurant in Toll Gavel, Beverley.
The free wi-fi appears sure enough in the list of my iPhone wi-fi networks:

I connected to the 'EastRidingFreeWiFi' wi-fi network in the normal way, and hoped for the best.
Alas when I tried the BBC app I get no internet connection.

I was not expecting much, but for the free wi-fi not to work at all was disappointing. I hope that the service is better for the market traders who hold stalls in Beverley, as they have stated that they will benefit greatly from this to be able to take e-payments from phones and cards on their stalls.
